5 of The Best Seafood Pizza Combinations of All Time

Seafood on pizza has come a long way. A lot more people enjoy ordering this interesting oceanic meets Italy delight. Nowadays most pizzerias, as well as restaurants, have this interesting combination on their menus.

The idea of seafood on a pizza can be put alongside the pineapple or no pineapple debate, but I’m not going to get into that. As more and more people come to the fishy side of the pizza, more and more delicious combinations have emerged. It’s not just prawns or mussels anymore. It has been taken so much further, and the outcome has been delightfully delicious.

The seafood pizza is the best of both worlds, delicious dough meeting the taste of the ocean, add cheese and garlic, and it’s a match made in heaven.

I’ve done the hard work for you, to make your decision easier when dining out. Not that it was by any means difficult. But there are seafood pizza combinations that stand tall above the rest.

So whenever you’re out again, keep a look out for these combinations:

5 of the best seafood pizza combinations

Scallops, calamari strips, marinated tiger prawns, semi-dried tomatoes, garlic, herbs and lemon.

This pizza boasts with the best of everything. If you have a hankering for seafood, this one packs a punch with it’s three delicious fishy ingredients. Once you’ve had a pizza with this combination, I doubt you’ll want any other seafood pizza combination. It’s also my favourite on this list, the fact that I put it as number 1, however, was a mere coincidence.

Tender shrimp, crispy bacon and mozzarella cheese

Anything with bacon, in my opinion, is a winner, but adding the saltiness of the bacon to this pizza has hit a six. It’s simplistic, easy on the eye and delicious. So for those more inclined to pick a pizza which is laden with topics, this is the one for you.

Mussels, shrimp, calamari, garlic, herbs and olive oil on a tomato base

Another seafood combination that is both easy on the eye as well as the stomach. This pizza comes back to its Italian roots. And no this pizza doesn’t come with cheese, but when eaten you realise that it already is so rich that cheese would just wholly overpower the entire idea of it.

Scampi and squid served on a tomato base

I always thought that scampi was a type of fish, boy was I wrong. Simply put and native to Australia, it is the Northwest lobster.

This pizza is for those of us who love lobster, add squid and you have a deliciously decadent combination that will have you licking your lips. This seafood combination pizza is another example of leaving out the cheese. It just will be too rich to enjoy if you complicate it with formaggio.

Anchovies, mussels, clams, squid, chives, mozzarella and pureed tomatoes

Don’t think that I’d forget the ever popular anchovies. This little fish has been a favourite amongst pizza lover for many years. And it’s easy to understand why. It packs a punch, and when added liberally it will blow your mind as to what it can do to your taste buds. This pizza comes with the most seafood toppings and the reason I’m adding it is that there are those of us who enjoy the more is more idea when eating out. With all, it’s flavours the mozzarella cheese isn’t overpowering and merely adds to the overall experience of enjoying this delicious seafood party on a pizza.

Whatever your decision is when dining out and you’re craving something different, I hope you give one of the combinations a try. You never know if you’ll fall in love with something new for the first time.
